A 200 metros se podía apreciar una gran conglomeración de personas en la puerta de la radio. No sabía de qué se trataba pero el ambiente se notaba pesado. Indiscutidos precursores de la electrónica. Tocan lo mismo desde hace casi 40 años y aún hoy su música sigue siendo innovadora.
La segunda mitad está dedicada al personaje más bizarro que alguna vez escuché. Contratenor alemán, descubierto por Bowie, cantando en un inglés rústico, desde la canción del Mago de Oz, pasando por himnos homosexuales, hasta música clásica sintetizada, con uno de los mejores falsetes de la historia. Un mejunje interesantísimo.
Emiliano me dijo que el día que se escuchara Klaus Nomi sería el fin del programa. Yo hoy creo en la vuelta de las emisiones en vivo. Un resurgir, como el del gato Félix.

Estuvieron a punto de ser teloneros de Radiohead a comienzos de año en el Club Ciudad, pero no pudo ser (igualmente, lo de Kraftwerk fue inolvidable). Comparten con su coterránea Björk la concepción de un sonido alejado de los estándares del rock. Tal es así, que hasta cantan en un lenguaje que ellos mismos crearon.

Patrick McAloon, frontman de quien abre las puertas de esta última noche, declaró hace más de 20 años ser el mejor compositor del planeta. Sostendrá hoy lo mismo, después de haber escuchado a Ricky Arjona?
La segunda hora es de Felt. Su líder era una loca de atar, obsesivo por la limpieza y la imagen; echó al batero original por tener rulos. En una presentación posterior, el tecladista y el guitarrista lo dejaron solo en el escenario junto al nuevo integrante del grupo.
Afortunadamente, más allá de divismos, ambos lograron conducir a su norte a dos grandes bandas, que podés escuchar acá.

Lo primero que recuerdo haber escuchado de Tom Petty y sus rompecorazones fue una pieza en cuyo video aparecía Kim Basinger, que originalmente se llamó "hey, Indiana girl" para luego adoptar el glamoroso nombre de "Last dance with Mary Jane". Pero el interés por su obra fue in crescendo cuando Stevie Nicks reversionó Free fallin' para convertirla en una verdadera obra de arte. Justamente ella debía acompañarlo en esta noche, pero un problema de logística hizo que Opposition se adelantara una semana. Como decía un famoso mentalista: "puede fallar".
El post-punk es un género que gusta mucho y los londinenses son un digno exponente del mismo.

Lamentablemente no pudimos salir al aire el viernes pasado ya que un golpe de tensión quemó los equipos que posibilitaban hacerlo. Por suerte el tema ya está solucionado.
Hoy tenemos dos horas de la voz delicada de Liv Kristine, una soprano que se hizo conocida por ser la vocalista de Theatre of Tragedy, quienes con su partida se convirtieron de góticos a vaya a saber uno qué. Pero eso ahora no importa. Ella aparece durante dos horas con los mencionados ToT, con su banda (Leaves' Eyes), de manera solitaria y colaborando con Heavenwood y Atrocity, la agrupación de su marido.

Indigna el desprecio mostrado por ciertas emisoras radiales platenses hacia la música que no vende. Ciertamente las bandas de hoy no llenan bolsillos. Y por este tipo de música es que hacemos el programa. Para escuchar de noche, The Blue Nile es un trío escocés haciendo un pop calmo y romántico mientras que The Durutti Column es la banda sonora de los sueños más cuidados. El de hoy es un viaje. El programa de hoy es fruto de un malentendido. Un numeroso grupo de aparentes fanáticos del programa se concentró en la puerta de la radio reclamando a vivo grito: "queremos New Age! queremos New Age!!", ante lo cual, la producción de La última noche responde con un especial de Enigma y Enya. Lamentablemente, la gente sólo quería tomar vino...
